Inspired by 'The Few' who took part in The Battle of Britain, The Quill Rollneck is an original 1930s design reinvented for the 21st century wardrobe. Made in a gorgeous cinnamon British yarn, this is the second addition to our cable-knit design, the first being The Henshaw.

The Quill takes its name from Jeffrey Kindersley Quill, chief test pilot for Vickers Aviation Ltd. Quill was the second man to film the Supermarine Spitfire in 1936.

Considering it to be incredibly important to the development of the aircraft, Quill joined 65 Squadron in August 1940, where he gained first-hand combat flying experience during The Battle of Britain.

The rich cinnamon yarn accentuates the cable-knit pattern and with its unique cuff and waistband detail, directly copied from an original 1930s pattern, that's why we can call it vintage clothing. The Quill rollneck requires no effort by the wearer to look the part.
